Timewerks is a time tracking and invoicing application for the iPhone. This is by far one of the best and most often used apps on my phone. It's paid for itself many times over just due to the ease of use. Here's the example I typically use when explaining the power of the iPhone and the apps available for it:

Not so long ago I received an email from one of my best clients asking me to make an address change on their site, as they had recently moved while I sitting watching my kids' at their Kung Fu class

• I quickly opened Safari and logged into the Content Management System (CMS) based site that I created for her and made the change.
• I replied to her emai using the standard email app stating the change had been made.
• I then opened Timewerks and created a time entry for the services I just provided, generated, and emailed off the invoice.

I did all of this in roughly 30 minutes.

Now, you may ask, why would you go to the trouble to bill for 30 minutes, isn't it more of a hassle than it's worth?

In the past, I would have probably agreed, since I would receive the email, possibly make the change on the phone, then go home and generate an invoice. Lots of smaller consults and projects typically went unbilled. Over time, this adds up to a lot of lost revenue. So yes, it is worth the hassle, especially when it's really no longer a hassle, and I can send the invoice from virtually anywhere.

This actually adds time to my day by reducing the time I need to spend on billing and has increased my revenue due to its simplicity.

Now I send out invoices for every bit of work I do. It's up to me which invoices I decide to put "This one's on Us" in the terms for when I decide to provide services for free for my loyal return customers.
